Default Planes, trains & automobiles

I've posted planes and automobiles...so here is the "trains" category to complete the trilogy. This is from a 2006 trip that the family and I took: Amtrak's "Empire Builder" at Havre, Montana en route from Chicago to Seattle. The locomotives look like they could use a paint job.

If you want a relaxing and scenic way to see America, this is a worthwhile trip. Pentax *istDL.

I love trains. My dad used to work for the railroad, so the family got to ride for free, and we took advantage of it. Also, my grandfather was an engineer in the old days of steam engines. It was a very prestigious job in those days, similar to being an airline pilot now.

Here's a shot of an oldtimer, in Calgary's Heritage Park.
