Default Odds and Ends

Here are couple of vintage bikes that were at the show.

Great pix of great bikes. My sister had a Honda 50cc. I used to take it for a spin with a friend of mine, back in the 1960's. Unfortunately as we were both 6 ft. plus Canadian teenage, Prairie boys I had to get the little 50 up to about 3-5 mph and then he would run and jump on the back part of the seat.

The little Honda would slow down to about 1 mph and then like the little engine that could...would valiantly work itself up, slowly to 30 mph.

Poor little thing, probably wasn't designed to carry a total of 400 lbs plus.

That MV Agusta is something else. MV DOHC 4 cylinders used to win the 500cc World Championships on a regular basis back then. MV brought out the 750cc version in the pix, but changed the drive from a chain to a shaftt drive to discourage owners from trying to road race these lovely tourers.

I was surprised too. But, I also had a '65 Jawa 50cc with 3 speed std. tranny and I was able to take off from a dead stop with my buddy and I on the bike. It wasn't a rocket sled though.
