Great Shot I bet the crew were all thrill with this trip.... now that would of been the upmost to do a trip in an old schooner. As an old reader of ol' Love novels which would take me any where I wished to transport my mind... mostly chosen the routine of a wench on some ol' schooner dutiful to the Captain of course..... My mind knows it would of been the best trip to have been on, in today's times.

LOL from the bridge which bridge a boater would say but I do know what you mean in today's time .... would of been a better ride on the bridge though right beside the Captain at the helm...

Hejsan Torgny! Great photo! I really loves ships! Just had the pleasure in December of going to Vasa ship museum in Stockholm... Anyway, your photo is splendid.

All the best.

P.S. Be very careful of any Finns in your vacinity... Since Sweden beat them in ice hockey... well, this is not going down very well here in Finland... I know Swedish is the second national language of Finland... I am afraid to say a word since Sweden's win... I am afraid if I speak Swedish, I will be pelted with trash and stones.

Nice photo-op you took advantage of. Quite an itinerary and quite a welcoming committee. I wonder if they had to repel boarders off the Horn of Africa on their way to the Suez Canal in leg 9?

SharpShotGal,

Yes, I understand, naval life has it's own lexicon. In my language the bridge of a ship is called "brygga" and that is homonymous with the Swedish equivalent to "jetty"

English has a much larger lexicon. Surprises me that it has the same word for those two different ....

Well, ain't you the romantic one (correct?) Of course, it would be nicer to stand on the bridge of a ship than on a bridge over a river

Torgny

Here she is back home, docked by the other side of the river. She sure will sail again, the East Indiaman Götheborg
