Default Norfolk Southern 8761 and 2713

Been trying to quite some time to catch one of these mile long trains passing by the old elevator.
Very few trains run on this old line and I am always at work, I was taking the dog out early yesterday
and I heard this train way off in the distance, grabbed my camera and off I went. Taken with my D-90
and Tokina 11-16 at 11 mm.

A few miles later coming out of the shadows, pretty barren around here, I look forward to Spring and some color!
Taken with my D-50 and 70-300 at 250 mm.

I am a big fan of rail photography (in addition to aircraft) and you've not only captured a great shot of the NS locomotive, but shown it in a very appropriate context. Also it is unusual to see a locomotive oriented with the cab in the back--they usually run with the short nose facing forward--a fortuitous capture!!
