some nice jet shots, looks like a fun day of shooting at the airport. the 70-300 kept up well didnt it.

i like the Jet Blue shot, and then the American from the side shots.

Even better, I was on the deck of a starbucks, was relaxing with friends on a nice day, taking bike, and having coffee. Every time one approached I to series.

Does the photo look sharp? Mark commented that another thread of mine was really soft, was worried it was from the drop.

I would love to get to shoot some planes, such great machines.

With regards to sharpness on these and the other thread earlier today, I've just had a thought, are you posting photos larger than the size allowed by the forum? If so then they are downsized automatically which can lead to very soft results.

i posted much the same in your other thread. they are around 110-120kb which is the size the forum likes to resize to. i would use an external host, or downsize them yourself to just under 250kb. if you go 800x600, using around 8 or 9 on the compression slider should do.

The worst thing was I got there to late for the big boys from the late morning, and had to leave before the late afternoon crop came in. So I missed the 747, 777 and a340. Next time I need to pay more attention to the schedule I fly out of there enough that I should have remember when the big birds come in.

Wow Shoturtle...you are giving me mega-envy. Sounds you were in a good spot to catch so many aircraft coming in. I especially like #2 (Delta B767) on series 1 where you can see the first officer throught the cockpit window.

Images are a bit soft on this set as well. You should try re-sizing to 900 x 600 pixels first and then do your color, contrast and sharpening adjustments.

In any event, I'd love to hang out for a day where you were at--would you mind PMing the location? I might be able to persuade the family to stop around there for an extended lunch on our travels to Greenport this year.
