Default Good Day at the Airport

An unusually busy Sunday morning at the airport. Being a nice clear day, I spent about 2 hours there salivating at the sights.

#1: An Atlas Air B747-400 Freighter departing Rwy 18C.

#2: Caught this Mad Dog (MD-88) as it landed on RWY 18L. Check out the thrust reversers on the engines.

#3: Tried a bit of panning as this US Airways Express CRJ-50 was on its take-off roll. 1/100th of a sec. shutter.

I like the shot with the thrust reverser in action, very good catch. I see you are getting a good share of 747 lately. Your panning of the US Air is great, very good sense of speed with the deep motion blur in the back ground.

Sorry I missed your comment on this Shoturtle...thanks!
Yes, I found out that there is some "heavy" action at CVG on the weekends when the freighters arrive and depart. DHL recently relocated one of their freight hubs from Wilmington, Ohio to Cincinnati. Unfortunately, most of the traffic is active after dark. I've been using flightstats.com to time my visits to the viewing area.

I need to visit when the planes take off in the opposite direction. That would put place them in a good spot right about where I would be located. Stay tuned!

Liking the panning photo... good job and great colour to match.

Can you please keep the longest size of the photos to no more than 1024 so that users with smaller screens can view easily and also for some who are not on fast connections (we still have users on dial up that I know of) can get to see them?
