Default Pirates in Hawaii

Filming for the next Pirates of the Caribbean in progress at various locations in Hawaii. Night filming at the pier near my home is slated for next week. Took this shot of the Black Pearl at sunrise this morning. Barge and crane in the way for a decent shot!

Sneak shots like this will make the next release more interesting to me. If you can, a few more please.

frank,

I will be at the pier during the week as they are slated for night filming. I was told by their security that the pier will be closed off and will have to shoot from the highway, quite a distance away.

They were filming at the east side last week at a small beach cove where Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr were filmed in "From Here to Eternity". In this movie, the scene will be at a shipwreck during a rainstorm.

thanks for the info. i read about movies, bloopers, trivia etc) before I watch them. For me, it makes them more fun. I even like to know who-did-it so I can detect the small clues.

frank,

FYI, the beach cove (also called eternity beach to some) is about 100 feet below a parking area (Halona Blow Hole). They had a large crane with a long steel beam suspended down to the cove area. The sprinkler heads were mounted on the beam and simulated the rainstorm at the shipwreck - look for this in the movie!

Big fan of PoTC. You have captured the mood of the Black Pearl very well! I almost see Barbosa at the helm!

Default Black Pearl

Thanks for the comments jelpee

They moved the Black Pearl to the main pier today. Although a lot of gawkers and movie personnel (no actors), tried to isolate parts of the ship as best as I could.
