Default Smokin!!!

The weight of a fully loaded B747 freighter shows the impact on the main landing gear as she smokes the runway on touch down.

Thanks ST! This was taken at CVG. I wonder how many landings like this a set of tires can take before they need to be replaced???

FYI, Kalitta is based out of Willow Run airport in Ypsilanti, MI (Metro Detroit area) and their call sign is "Connie"--presumably based on the name of the owner (Conrad Kalitta).

I caught the same aircraft last weekend coming in from the opposite direction skimming the rooftops

.

Jelpee,

I forgot to mention. The tires are routinely uses for 300-400 landing depending on the wear conditions.
