Default Skimming the Rooftops

Caught this FedEx MD-11F a couple of weekends ago skimming the rooftops near the airport. It is not a regular visitor to CVG which typically sees FedEx A300's. As it turns out, it was hauling show horses from Brussles for the 2010 World Equestrian Games held in Lexington, KY (about 60 minutes drive from Cincinnati). Brussels was reportedly the staging point for horses from across Europe that needed to be here for the games. I was told that this freighter was converted into a mobile stable. It was interesting to see the horse trailers (semi's) pull up to the aircraft once it landed.

Next time you need a horse shipped across the world, call FedEx!

By the way, a version of this aircraft made it into airliners.net at http://www.airliners.net/photo/FedEx...f3362c4f123e2f

There was a discovery channel special about inside fedex. It showed the horse shipping and big animal shipping that fedex does.
