So seven people pedal the bike and one has steering control. Now thats what I call car pooling gone green. I cant get my head around how the chains all drive something in one direction when they are covering a 360 degree range.

Very strange. I bet there's an electric motor on the back wheel and each driver has an individual battery charger so you only have to run the electrics and not anything mechanical. Although I don't see why they wouldn't all face forwards in that case :/

I think Martin has it right: that appears to be a battery box with charging cord over the back wheel. Maybe a communal taxi - fare based on how much you pedal.

Its a nice tidy configuration when 7 people are pedalling. If that were a bicycle built for 7 it would be quite long and not very maneuverable. This is like a single little vehicle and quite easy to get through traffic. Since only one person is steering the rest can be looking at each other discussing the next best way to screw people out of their money. And the idea of pedalling chargers makes more sense than chain driven gears. That box could also fit lunch for the group. In fact it does look like a microwave.

Unfortunately I could not see it in motion and the guy out there did not speak English so I was not able to ask him anything....Wish someone could tell us how it runs....

Well the name on the front bumper is Rosarother Panther. That translates out to Pink Panther. After checking things out I found this http://www.conferencebike.com/CONFER...e.html?bike=64

This is strictly a pedal bicycle. Its called Conference Bike. The box on the Pink Panther is an add on by the owner. Has nothing to do with the propulsion.

Just when you think you've seen it all.

It's hard to see how you would get anywhere with everyone pedaling indifferent directions. And the driver is going to have trouble seeing where he is going if the two in front are fat.

1800 euros for the conference 7 seater bike is not chump change. But it would make a great conversation piece wherever it was sitting.
