Default Inhaling Jet Fumes

Found a spot just about under the glide path where you can literally smell the jet fumes from the aircraft like this A320 as they pass overhead. A former Northwest aircraft now repainted in the Delta livery.

Very sharp shot, you capture the A320 very well.

Saw the title and had to join, but someone beat me to it. Great shot, but the smell, best perfume around

Great shot! My favorite place to shoot airplane pictures is at Gravely Point at the end of Regan National Airport just off the George Washington Parkway. Don't get their much anymore but when I do I go crazy and you can also capture some jet skiers and boats both dinner type smaller cruise ships, ducks -- the boat kind that do land and water tours of DC metro area and other types of smaller boats as the river runs up beside the airport. Their is a boat launching ramp at this location as well.

Thanks ST. A320's are about the only Delta jets of some interest these days. Gone are the 757s, 767's and even the 777 which used to fly from CVG to London daily. From some of my prior posts, you could guess that the only "heavy" action at CVG is now is from cargo operations (DHL, ABX, PAC, etc.)

Thanks John...my wife does not quite understand my affinity for the aroma of jet fuel...quite intoxicating if you ask me.

Thanks Wizzard. This location is a parking lot of a warehouse. The proximity to the glide path together with my 70-200 f/2.8 does a nice job in delivering crisp images.

Dave, I've read a lot about Gravely Point and it is definitely on my list of spots to visit (perhaps in 2011 when I travel by the Baltimore/DC area again). This year I had a good 2 days of spotting at BWI...their observation park is an A+ location.
