When i was a kid (one Century ago), i used to travel in one of those tramways. We called them "tranvías".
Some stupid government bureaucrat decided to get rid of tramways in Buenos Aires. Not so fancy as yours, but here's a public domain pick:

Thanks. Stupid is the word. Now the americans are going to Spain to learn how to create sustainable ways to transport people - they could have led that market instead of manufacturing weaponry and waging wars for oil and gas
