Some more tremendous pictures....my parents had a '64 Impala staion wagon, but in Honduras Maroon.
We used to stay in Minnesota for the summer months and I recall the lifeguard (he was a college student) had a '64 Impala SS like this....only he had a 4 speed std., rather than the powerglide auto the one in the pix has. The LG used to race his '64 SS convert. with 300 hp / 327 V8 against a 32 Ford coupe, with a 283 Chevy small block V8...just beyond the jurisdiction of the town sheriff.
