Default Winter Plane Spotting

It's bloody cold hanging out at an airfield in the middle of winter. But the reward is beautiful lighting that renders crisp and clear images. Took these images of regional jets departing a couple of weeks ago at CVG.

Nikon D300s + Nikkor 70-200 f.2.8 + Nikkor 1.4 T/C.

Was also trying to photograph this Polar 747 taxiing out for it's flight to Anchorage when a American Eagle ERJ crossed the lens. While the ERJ is not quite in focus, I thought it made for an interesting size comparison of the two aircraft. Also very fitting that I photographed a "Polar" aircraft against a snow laden background....Brrr.
