Default While what to my wondering eyes did appear

...but a cross between the British royal's coach and a psychotic garage mechanic's wet dream. I've been to scores of car shows, but have never seen anything like what I saw this morning at our local "Donut Derelicts" gathering. This guy pulls up in a 2-piece vehicle that immediately drew a crowd of stunned onlookers. The front half consisted of the huge engine on 4 wheels, topped off by what appreared to be a horse from a merry-go-round. The back half was an open carriage with facing seats, a driver's bench at the front and the steering wheel.

And the "coach" section. As shown, the driver sits on the bench and steers the front wheels of the front section from there.

Great shots, Walter. What a bizarre vehicle. It makes me wonder if he is still having flashbacks from whatever he ingested in the 60's.

That is one unique vehicle. I can see a bride and groom zooming off into the sunset in this!!

Nice shots Walter,
I must get up there one of these weekends as I am only about 15 miles away.

Of course you have the "Cars and Coffee" show there in Irvine, but the Donut Derelicts gathering starts even earlier (6 a.m.). Folks start leaving around 7:30-8:00, as some of the stores in the "mall" start opening at 8:00 and customers need the parking space. Normally, there are 125-150 cars on display. Let me know if you're coming...will be nice to meet you.

Never seen anything remotely like this in all my years with vintage cars, hot rods and customs.

Only in California it seems does such creative imagination exist.

I got to get down there !
