Default My bmw r1100s

Took some night shots of my R1100S with a single flash off camera. Think I should have used 2 off camera flash one firing from high and on firing low.

Thanks, yeah she is a pretty bike, not the fastest, Or the lightest and very bmw quirky. But she is a good sport tourer for long rides. She eats up highway miles, and is very well tuned for twisties. The Suzuki if my blasting bike.

Nice wheels ST! Re. the lighting, you should try this with the flash set to "slow sync". This will enable you to capture the bike with the flash as well as allow some of the background to be naturally lit.

I did take couple of slow sync shots. Here is one that I am not sure if I like yet.

Background lighting looks much better. Here's what I would try next:
1. Try to achieve some bokeh in the background...move the bike further away from the fence and use as wide an aperture as possible + long zoom.
2. Set WB to tunsten and use a orange gel on your flash--you'll recover the white on the bike!
3. Finally, you could try a long exposure an firing the flash from different angles at reduced power.

If all of this sounds too complicated, I think a shoot at dusk (blue hour) would do the trick!

Well I played with some lens effect editing with topaz. What do you think about the edit.

Background blur really works to show off the bike. I attempted some selective WB adjustment...could not get it quite right.
