Default B-2 Stealth Bomber

Every year the B-2 Bomber flies in from Whitemore Air Force Base to do a fly-over at the Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Football game. I live about 15 miles from the Rose Bowl, and every year the bomber circles right over our house while waiting for "show time". What is most striking is the sheer oddness of the shape and it's size. It is such a matte black color, making it look like a hole in the sky. It is also very quiet. Some years, it is accompanied by a couple of Stealth Fighters (much smaller but with similar odd shape), which is quite a sight.

I've seen this and the B1 on static display at an airshow. The B1 "looks" quite a bit bigger, though it may have a shorter wingspan.

Thanks Phil, Wingman, Kelly. It is an odd sight, and we look forward to it every New Year's day.

Kelly - just did a quick Wiki search and it says the B-2 has a wingspan of 172 ft, but there really is no "body". BTW, as big as it looks, it's only a 2-seater!

A big part of the reason for the B2 looking smaller on the ramp is because it sits closer to the ground. You really have to crane your neck looking "up" at the B1 !

I grew up in NM, and have seen quite a few of the 117s flying overhead. Being a Cessna/Piper pilot, it's kind of odd watching these things fly.
When I was a teen, and before this stuff was really trotted out very publicly, I attended an airshow in Roswell where they had a spot roped off, a large sign reading "Stealth Bomber", and all the chocks, airstair, and everything set up as if an invisible airplane was sitting in the spot.

Some years, couple of F-117s (which are quite a bit smaller than the B-2) fly along the B-2. That is a really odd sight.

Yes, or like one of those triangular kites.

Actually, it really looks like something Batman would fly in.
