Default Circus in Town: For Torgny & Les

The Greatest Show on Earth (aka RIngli Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus) is in Cincinnati this week. These are the mobile quarters for the performers; the railcars for the animals are parked closer to the performance arena.

I was surprised at the length of this train (about 20 cars); I also wondered about the life of someone in the circus...living on a train, a new city each week. Through some of the windows one sees potted plants, shamrock garlands for St. Patrick's Day, etc...it's a whole different life than I know.

Until your picture, I had thought the days of the circus train was history . Mostly now it's RV trailers / Motor Homes as the performers and workers go from location to location.

My family knew some circus performers, wonderful people with a strong sense of family, very intelligent. It can be a fascinating life, getting to know North America so well and many of them have winter home bases.
