Default Bombardier Q400

Taken from my back yard @300mm. Crop of original. Never saw one of these fly by before this one. Much prettier than the ATR-72. Looks faster as well.

G'day mate

"Bombardier Q400...Taken from my back yard "
Does this make your back yard a noisy place with aircraft movements??

Pic-wise > great sharpness, obviously it's "wheels-up" and off to places unknown
[or is that 'wheels-up-mother-brown' in the old song?]

Regards, Phil

The closest active runway is 2 mile from my home, line of sight. Any turboprop aircraft using that runway when a south wind is blowing and their destination is west will most likely fly over the house. The pure jets have to adhere to the departure procedures which require them to to continue south until reaching 3,000 feet altitude. One gets used to most of the noise but when the air is cold and maintenance guys are trimming an engine in the wee hours it can wake you up. Thanks for your reply, Phil. I worked for American Airlines for 31 years so that noise just reminds me of the food it put on the table. Glad that you liked the photo.
