Default Thunder over l'ville (practice run)

To add to Gary (GTROTH)'s thread, I attended the practice day for the Thunder Over Louisville air show and caught these. It was a tough shoot for me, even with a long lens (Sigma 150-500 OS). Many pix but only a few keepers.

The F-22 Raptor demo was quite thrilling. A bit soft but it was the best of the series...

This was the Lima Lima aerobatics team.

It is nice to see the raptor flying again after the fleet grounding to fix the exhaust fume issue.

Good ones, Jehan. Especially, that Raptor. That is one airplane that's as beautiful on the ground as it is in the air.

Wingman,
Looks like I'm on board here. Never looked at the forums. Always used Steve's reviews though. I have about the same pics that I kept of the Raptor. I FXed them for the short video. All the pics were soft. We were just too far away, plus the lighting was bad at that time. Catch you later,,,,,,,
I used your photo for the profile pic. Thanks,,,,,
Let's see if I get this pic in here. URL's?

Welcome aboard Slats! Nice capture of the vapor trails coming off the wing tips of the Raptor. It was my first time attempting a jet fighter at an air show--harder than I thought!

Wingman,,,,,
Yeal, those shows are a bit difficult. A lot of movement, smaller planes (F-18's, etc) & long range. We'll try a 600mm rental next time.....Ha !!
I think the video format is a better catch sometimes...... See ya......Slats1
