Default Ju52 hb-hot

I got the chance to take a ride in a Junkers JU52 at a company function. I was told its one of only 3 left and the only one with the BMW motors. Its a tri-motor cargo/transport plane.

I did not really enjoy the ride. It was cramped, uncomfortable, noisy and very warm in the cabin.

It was a once in a lifetime chance so Im glad I took it.

Sounds like a cool expeirence (no pun intended with your reference to it being very warm in the cabin). I am envious!

Great pictures of a classic: excellent subject compositions, lighting and sharpness.

Pretty primitive aircraft on today's standard, the ride must be very rough. But it is one of those once a lifetime deal to get on something like this. Great pictures! Are these pictures taken with the 60mm macro?

the ride was as expected, wing vibration and noise.

I chose the 30mm for this trip as I wanted the cam to be as small as possible.

The 'old' airplanes still have a lot of style despite being less than modern. The Ju52 has an art deco feel to it.

In the fourth one it appears the co-pilot has his iPod plugged in ready to go.

My wife's Grandfather flew one in the 30's and 40's . They were known as the flying boxcar. He was a bush pilot in Canada. They used floats in the summer....ski's in the winter.
