Great pics Walter. I haven't seen one of these since I was a "kid". According to wikipedia 4000 were built between 1961 and 1968.

I was watching a travel show last week where some folks were riding across a lake here in California in an Ampficar -- then driving up on dry land and away. Not necessarily practical, but neat to see.

....we've one in Arlington Walter, perhaps you've seen it in the past.

He drives it to our Friday night cruize-in and shows an expired permit for Lake Arlington.
