Default Futuristic '50

In post-war USA, Studebaker was struggling to attract car buyers in a crowded market. One of its models in 1950 was this streamlined coupe which was spotted this past Saturday at our local car show.

The striking design of its front end was like nothing else on the road, at least in its price range.

The rear was equally eye-catching with its wrap-around windows and elongated trunk.

My first car was a Studebaker sedan, so I have some fond memories (and some not-so-fond ones) of this car maker. Thanks for looking.
