True indeed. The only way to get a shot like the one below. A fellow aviation photographer and I chartered this one for an air-to-air photo session.

Thanks Bynx. We were within the jurisdiction of LAX ATC. They cleared us for a corridor at an altitude of 1500 feet. Star Helicopters out of Hawthorne Airport (5 minutes from LAX) has worked out an arrangement for air-to-air photo flights over LAX. LAX is a great place for this kind of photography since you are guaranteed subject matter no matter what time of day. Here is another angle from a session I did in March of 2014.

Well it makes hanging around the airport taking pics of landings and takeoffs a bit boring compared to your point of view. Great stuff.
