Entered Sinai, Egypt at Taba on the Eastern Branch of the Red Sea, Gulf of Aqaba. This is an Egyptian Fort on a small Island. Across the Gulf - Jordan to the left, Saudi Arabia to the right. More to follow.

Heading south along the Gulf of Aqaba there are miles of half built resorts. Tourism has dried up since the terrorist bombing at the Taba Hilton in 2004. Construction stopped, no investment; it's a shame as this is such a beautiful place.

Taba Hilton- site of the 2004 bombing- stayed here one day/night. Got a great deal, had the beach to ourselves, hardly anyone else there. Security was as tight as airport at Tel Aviv.

Thanks for the memories a200. I lived on a kibbutz for over 2 years in my backpacking days after going through Europe. Here are a few of my pics which I removed from the site due to lack of response. The first is the Masada water room.
