just moved from Austin Tx to Seattle Wa and am looking for places to shoot. I've been to Olympic NP and Mt Rainier and looking forward to the Tulips in Skagit in April. Any help much appreciated.

to help find places I created a website for people to add/share photos and locations (geotagged). feel free to add to it if you like at www.findtheshot.com.

thanks again

link doesn't work, but you might also try Mt. Shuksan/Mt. Baker - I-5 north to Bellingham, then follow the Mt. Baker highway to the end... here's a shot of Shuksan to give you an idea...

if you're willing to drive to the Olympic National Park, the coast isn't all that much further... try Ruby Beach, just off Highway 101 about 35 miles south of Forks...

Mt. St. Helens is always good for a visit...

or you could just stick around town...

In Seattle there is some interesting public art, sometimes in unexpected places (there is a troll crushing a Volkswagen under the north side of the Aurora bridge, west side of Lake Union.) The grounds of the Asian museum will be nice in spring, also the Japanese gardens. No shortage of opportunities around Seattle; oh, and the San Juan islands, whales, Boeing, lots of seaplanes, salmon runs. Have fun.

The Arboretum offers abundant opportunities for floral shots, and you can walk from there to Union Bay, Marsh Island, etc., for photos of waterfowl and boaters.

There are numerous spots for animal photography as well... Woodland Park Zoo, Northwest Trek, the Nisqually and Skagit wildlife viewing areas...

There really isn't much you CAN'T find in Washington. Just depends on what you want to shoot, and how far outside Seattle you're willing to go.

If you don't mind just a bit of a drive, head up to Deception Pass and Whidbey Island. Beautiful scenery.

thanks, Musket. Tsquare, Deception Pass and Rose Point are both exceptionally photogenic spots...

sunset from the Deception Pass bridge...

the view from Rose Point toward the Strait of Juan de Fuca...

here's the bridge and Deception Pass itself...
