Looking atthis pictureI feel as if he'd be closely followed by Lara Croft!! since Tomb Raider II was set on this very island :-)

Btw, asone maymost probablyknow, this island has great significance inthe rise and downfallof ancient civilizations very closely related with thefate of legendary Minoan civilizationof Crete!

Well done

Every couple of hundred years, a major seismic event, usually remodeling the island itself.

And every few thousand years, the low-temp lava blocks the neck, and a massive explosion ensues.

Santorini is probably the sourceof the Atlantis story.

Another piece of trivia for you Barbarian. The featherless bird in the picture is me. I set the camera up and had it all ready to go. My friend just had to push the button. I did about 3 dives and this was the best of the 3 as far as timing was concerned.

I am a coward when it comes to heights. There is no way one could entice me to jump off once I got up there *shudder*. I'd be clinging with teeth and nails to the ledge.

But I do like the picture!

I'll just have to take your word for that, Sir :-)

Last time I even braved the highboard at the pool; I was 12.
I climbed up OK, (with a temendous amount of conviction and "I can do this" muttered like a mantra beneath my breath) walked to the middle with a great bit of trepadation - and then I froze there like a deer caught in the headlights. I simply could not make my feet move another inch - backwards, or forwards. (Blast my litte brother for double dog daring me to climb the darned thing).

One of the life guards had to come and fetch me down. Traumatized - for life, I tell ya!
