I brought back over 1200 images in my latest trip to Paris and some surrounding towns/chateau's. This year I kept the weight downwith a Panasonic FZ50, with it's 35-420mm built-in zoom, as well as a Panasonic DMW-LW55 wide angle converter, which gave me a wide angle view of 24mm. I also used the third-party program PTLens, which has a profile for this combination to remove the bent-line distortion you get with these add-on wideconverters.

Some of myfavorite images turned out to be those where I utilized the ability at 300-420mm to compress details and give the impression things are closer together than they really are, in addition to ones where I used the wide angle, not to try and capture everything in front of me like you always see being tried with wide angle lenses, but to "get in close" with certain subjects to try and create "different" looking images of familiar subjects. Here are a few ofthe ones I liked bestfrom this year..

Great shots Greg. Brings back some good memories. Is the 6th shot from the end, the one with cannons and a lion with a plug in its mouth, Invalides? Napoleon is buried inside? If it is I saw a great sound and light show there once.

That would indeed be the Invalides. The next picture after those two is the high alter just above Napoleon's tomb.If I had been there by myself I could have spent all day in the section dedicated to World War I and II...awesome museum.
