Hey Paul, good to have you back and hope all is on the up and up.

You've captured some nice photos and journalistic images, some lovely scenes amongst the turmoil.

As for that 'cold' temperature, it's about 30 deg C here at the moment and last two weeks while on honeymoon it was anything up to 50 deg C so I'm pleased for the coolness of 30 lol.

Looking forward to having you back around more.

Mark

The broken glass / woman in heels - well they are bullet holes. It is central Bangkok. There was a lot of shooting / protests there last month (Did you hear about it on the news there?) It was quite big news in Australia. So yes, (sadly) - those were fresh bullet holes. I titled that photo 'Trouble with sore, cracked feet?'

I don't watch the news much not since so much of it is bad news! I hate bad news when to much in my own life has been bad news! I prefer to not know and try to make it a better world in the way of being a good neighbor! and mind my business... to may out to get for not being on their own side of the life times!
Yes, I know what you mean, sharpshotgal - most of the news can be very sad and even depressing at times. That's one of the reasons I get 90% of my news online (easier to chose / click what I want to read about - rather than view to or listen through entire news bulletins where I'm only interested in 5% - 10% of what might be reported).

It's indeed very important to attempt to bring positive into this world, and my (Christian) faith has provided me with a lot of good perspectives to share this with many people and mirror true goodness.

I do hope that truth, love, peace will come to this world! Meanwhile, I try to be realistic as I know that life for many people is difficult (especially in developing nations), so while I don't dwell on all the negatives, I do my bit to be a responsible citizen of this globe. Sometimes even my photos can be a small part of that... portraying reality (without being too grotesque) - and alternatively sharing the beautiful things in this world.

All the best

Paul

Hi Crazy Jo!

Thanks for your comments - I'm very glad to hear that you appreciated my Thailand album. (and I appreciate you taking the time to look at it).

If you have any questions - practical e.g. clothing, transport, etc - please don't hesitate to send me a message (private message) - and where I can, happy to offer my perspective.

I had a great time in both Phuket and Bangkok. Looking forward to a visit again one time, if possible. The people were very friendly. Food delicious!

Hope your plans to visit Thailand will go well.

What camera (have you decided on one yet?) As I often tell people who are looking to get a photo for that 'once in a lifetime opportunity' (e.g. travel, wedding, children, etc)- it is VERY important to get some good practice in (learning settings, composition, technique, etc) - before your holiday! So practise and learn as much as you can beforehand!

Paul

Hey Mark, Mr Moderator Man

Good to hear from you. Thanks for the warm welcome back. I appreciate your comments, mate. Things have been going well lately, cheers! Always looking UP for good things!

Where are you where it is about 30 deg C? I heard England was having not much of a summer in June so far? (or was that till last week)?

I was praying for your honeymoon - glad to hear that you survived the 50 Deg C heat. Now you are well prepped for a visit to Australia... lol!

Definitely looking forward to continued more involvement. I wasn't really in hibernation from photography in the past months, but I was very busy with many things - and just didn't prioritise Steve's forums as much - but now seeing that I can get back into it here!

I plan to share (posts, photos, and new threads) as I have enjoyed doing ... wow, over 5 years since I made the big step from 'guest / observer' to 'online poster' here on Steves!

Thanks again.

Paul

Thanks Paul, pleased that life is good. Living in Alexandria, Egypt so that accounts for the temperature. Main problem here re photography is that I can't find much that inspires me, I really miss the variety of the UK. 3 months and we should be back there which is good for me, not so good for Passant as she will miss things here.

Thanks for the prayers, we had a good time for sure. If you are on FB then ping me a PM with your details so I can add you and you can see the photos when they go up in a couple of days.
