Default Wat Phra Singh in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Chiang Mai's most visted Buddhist temple and the second item listed in the 'Sights' category of the Lonely Planet guide. Having been there, I can see why on both counts. As usual, I was more interested in shooting parts rather than wholes.

#1 Jade Buddha.

#2 Elephant in front of a wrapped Chedi.

#3 Inside looking out.

#4 Serene colors.

Between exposures and PP I spent more time on that image than any other since I started with the S95 and PP.

Chiang Mai is a beautiful city to visit in northern thailand, I had a great time there. The sunday walk is a great time to see the city's night life.

This is a nice set.

Thanks to all for your kind words. #3 is my favorite image from the trip. I find Chiang Mai so photogenic that I want to return for a month next fall.

Went to both. The zoo was better than I expected, both as a zoo and for photo ops. But the combo of flat light, a too short lens and my inability to compensate for both left me with little worth keeping. The hilltop wat was impressive but too many people for much of anything but people shots. Or a shot of 25 pairs of shoes next to a sign saying 'Don't take off shoes here!' I posted the only keeper in the critique forum.
