Default Detroit Neighborhood

Grand Avenue in Detroit, Michigan.

I was up in this part of Detroit recently on a business trip and captured these images of what must have been a truly grand avenue in a nice neighborhood.

Canon S90..taken from a moving automobile on a recent ...did not feel quite safe to stop the vehicle, get out and compose a good photograph.

In the late 60s lived onb the south side of Chicago and saw a lot of areas like this. I know what you mean by, it can be very intimidating in these neighborhoods.

Jehed. I grew up in Detroit when it wasn't a rat hole. You could have improved on these shots if you used a tripod, but then, we might not have seen these photos, would we.

Streets,

Better believe it...I wans't gonna risk slowing down let alone get out and set up a tripod...this was my version of a "drive-by shooting"

Sad to see Motor City in such a state.
