Default Sturgis trip

We went back to Sturgis, South Dakota for the annual bike rally. I took a few pics this year with my canon SX40HS, because of the weight factor, and us being on the trike.

1) Some Prairie Dogs at the entrance to Badlands National Park.

2) My wife asked me "What are you taking a picture of THAT for? She's funny sometimes.

3) A waterfall in Spearfish Canyon, South Dakota.

4) A shot of Mount Rushmore

5) Some Pronghorn Antelope.

6) Yous truly, getting ready for another ride.

7) On the way to Devil's Tower, Wyoming.

8) Devil's Tower from the highway.

9) Some bikers taking a break, on the way to Devil's Tower.

10) Devil's Tower.

11)

This was the first and second days. Weather was very cooperative.

Good shots. Brings back memories of our visits there. As to the black and white and Your wife...It's like the Harley logo, "If you have to ask....." Mine quit asking and just got her own camera...to take pictures of me taking pictures.

You're right. If you have to ask...lol Thanks for taking a look. Seems you're the only one, but that's alright. Quality over quantity...

The country up there is very pretty, and rugged, too. The rides through Custer Park and the surrounding country is what we did mostly. We spent one day at Sturgis. We will go back next year, if we can. Two years in a row, and there are still things we didn't get to do.

Hey Robert
Nice to see you and your wife made the trip up north again.
Very beautiful country. Looks like you two had a great time.
I really like the shot of you on the trike.
Please let the photographer know she did a great job.
The B&W shot, a hitching post, a clothes line and a pile on wood? was that all that was there? Interesting.
B&W works well with that one.
I was hoping to see some more party girl shots, none this year?

Great travelogue...I need to head to that part of the US as I make my way through the National Parks (Death Valley this year for me). Great shot of Devil's Tower as well as the waterfall!

Hey Mike! The B&W shot was just for fun, I usually don't take "artsy fartsy" shots like that, and it looked totally different uncropped and in color. I was taking some shots of some Prairie Dogs, when I spotted that scene.

I didn't get any wild women shots, we were on the road too much, and back at the Lodge before dark most nights.

I posted some more pics in another THREAD you might have missed.

Thanks Jehan! I hope you have "cool" weather to see Death Valley. I hear it gets mighty hot there in the summer. Of course people will tell you "it's a dry heat". I don't care, wet or dry, hot is hot.

The Devil's tower ride was as fun as seeing the monument up close. The top is flat to slightly concave, and is home to a variety of plant and animal life. A self-contained eco-system. No way up, and only one way down. A real mystery.
