We were here recently. I like this photo, but I think it could use some help. Any suggestions?

Thanx,

Ron

Great pic. My wife and I went to St. Maartin three years ago for our honeymoon. Nice place.

It looke like you tried to frame the picture using the balcony. In my personal opinion, there is too much "frame" and not enough picture.

I straightened up the horizon and cropped it a bit. Sorry if I butchered it...

The cropping does help. The original was overpowered by the excess space from the natural framing.

Very sublime with nice previsualization , surfnron

Perhaps this can be the reason for a fisheye accessory lens?

digcamfan,
Thanx for the comments.
I was in the Navy many years ago, (the boats were wooden), and saw most of the world. There were only 2 places I wanted to return to. They were Germany and Hong Kong. St. Maarten has been added to my list.
There are a few more photos on photobucket if you are interested. Really just snapshots. But you can enter "surfnron" and the password is "friends".
I took about 200 while there, but have not added many yet because I am trying to do a quick edit before uploading.

I spent a whole year down in St. Maarten...and I think I actually know where the hotel buildings in the background are. I think they are just outside of Philipsberg. There is a roadthat runs into to philipsberg that over looks that location and it is such a nice view from there.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Too bad at the time I had a film camera because I took some really nice shots while down there...I guess I could always scan them in and post them.

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"Since you mentioned that you were in the Navy...I was lucky enough to be down there when the USS Harry S. Trumen showed up. I got a chance to board the ship and take a tour. I got lots of Pics of me walking around on the flight deck taking pictures with the jets. No words can describe how amazing that ship is.
