All I can take credit for with this shot is having paid for the airfare to get there. Luck had me there on such a beautiful evening. Fishermen built the picturesque village. Minoltabuilt the camera (X-700). Fuji made the film (Provia 100). The print that won the county fair was made by Holland Photo - I wish I could figure out how to make the scan look as fabulous as IT did. Plustec made the scanner to digitize it for this presentation. All I did was stand there and click the shutter. More than pride, I feel a sense of gratitude and humility for having had the opportunity to record the scene. It would be interesting to see some of the photos other serious amateursand pros took that same night, to see how THEY recorded it! This is the only real winner I've ever shot in 35 years, so I'll bet their's look even better.

This is an amazing shot and I can'understand why you were humbled to be there. Puts things into perspective don't it.

Thanks for sharing,

Rose

I realized the image was too big for the screen, and reduced it a bit.
