To me this is the ultimate village square. A few people, old, and young, gather to put the world to rights over a coffee or an Ouzo. The square, Kastenia, Greece. A simply wonderful place!

This photo tells a nice story. One wonders what they are discussing, etc.

I can give you part of the answer to that one. The two young girls sitting on the right hand side are media students, who are putting together an article for a newspaper about life in the mountain villages as it used to be. They are interviewing the old man who was very animated in his descriptions of life gone by in Kastania. They later took some photos of him and around the village of the old mani tower houses and byzantine churches, and then zoomed off in their VW car into the distance, probably back to their university in Kalamata.

Thanks for the additional info. I thought maybe they were hatching some sort of conspiratorial political plot. Sorry for the sick humor - I'm American and we LOVE conspiracy theories.
