Looks like you like your Aviation, how about one of these in your back garden, the noise is ear shattering, and the backfires and flames on run down from high RPM are,well.......... sheer music

Is that from a late-model Spitfire?

I really do not know but it is a very late Griffin, and if my memory is good it came out of a Avro Shackleton, the picture was taken at Flying Legends Airshow at Duxford lasy year. These chap also have a very early Merlin and a slightly later version, both were running at the same time that day, did I mention the noise, Phew, amazing. Their is a Contra-Rotating Spitfie in France which came to duford last year, I think it came from Steve Hinton in The States. It is a right Pocket Rocket on the display circuits, I will try to find a picture of it, but cannot remamber if I was digital at the time

Great shots! I've been an airplane nut for the last 37 years. I forgot the Shackleton had contra-props, too.
