I need to purchase a tripod for a Canon A620, to take pictures of jewelry. Since this is such a specific situation, and the only one I'll use the tripod for, I'm hoping someone can advise on what makes good, economic sense.

1. Canon A620 (light camera)
2. Indoors only.
3. Photos primarily of earrings and necklaces, some on "ear model", most on a display setting.

Seems like this doesn't require an expensive multipurpose tripod, but the three questions I have are:

1. Ball head or pan-tilt?
2. Would a table-top tripod work in this situation?
3. Which specific tripod(s) would you recommend?
