Default Tripod for Canon T1i

I want a travel tripod that is light but sturdy and has a quick release feature. I would like it to be under 18" when folded and also be over 60" when fully extended. I also want to keep the price as low as possible. I've been looking at the Velbron Ultra Luxi L. It has gotten good reviews and I can get it for less than $170 shipped.

My camera is a Canon T1i with 18-55mm & 55-250mm lenses. I'm an amateur and it won't get a lot of use.

Anyone have experience with this tripod?
Equally good but cheaper options?
Any other suggestions?

Bought the Velbon Maxi F which was on sale at a camera store possibly because it's been discontinued as no one seems to have them on hand.

I have the t1i with the sames lenses and couple of heavier ef lenses.

The slik sprint pro II is a good choice, it is about 90 bucks. It is a grounder also i think. It is pretty light weight about 2 pounds. It has a ball head which makes it more compact. It folds up to 18.5 inches. It is lighter then the velbron and folds up smaller but the velbron has a full head.
