Default Ball head for Manfrotto Tripod

Hi there - I have just purchased a second hand (only used once apparently) Manfrotto 190XDB tripod and am hoping to pick up the ball head from the same seller but I'm not actually sure how they work and whether my camera will fit? Any tips? This is my first tripod - first DSLR for that matter and like my username suggests I am a total beginner and need all the help I can get! My camera is a Nikon D5000.

Many thanks

ooops - realised I didn't specify what the ballhead is (useful!). It's Goldphoto YH432 Pro Ball Head - from what I can tell from doing a search, it is some dodgy Chinese manufacturer (not that everything Chinese is dogdy, but all seach results were actually in Chinese which would indicate that it's not widely available??).

I got the manfrotto 496rc2 ball head. i know it costs more but it works great. have you tried the goldphoto model? or is it just cheap? sounds to me as if you're buying online without using it. good luck.

I have found that some of the ballhead companies have videos that explain and show capabilities very well. I would recommend watching to see if that is what you need...

This video gives an overview of a ballhead with both a panning base and on top of the ballhead.
