i always hear about the rather annoyingly loud slapping sound that the G2228 makes when you lock the legs in position. and you all who have compleained about it are 100% right. i have found a simple and inexpensive relative solution to that issue. all it requires is 3 1' wide by 1 1/2" long pieces of the warm and fuzzy side of velcro (the loop side). i suggest strongly the self adhesive version because it will wear out and need to be replaced eventually(the adhesive is fairly easy to remove when needed). the images below are fairly self explanitory for location and positioning. it reduces the offending noise by about 50-75% (sorry no dB meter around today).

there is enough padding to reduce the noise but its not thick enough to affect the locking break over at all.
