I sometimes use a walking cane to help me walk straighter, very little weight goes on the cane. On trips carrying a collapsable cane and tripod is cumbersome. Does anyone know of a monopod that can be adapted into a walking cane? Or a way to make a cane handle fit themonopod?I've noticed that Manfetto has an adaptor ball head that will make a monopod into a table tripod. As you can see, this would make less stuff to carry.

Scotty, You may be interested in the folding monopods at the following link: http://www.stoneypoint.com/outback_index.html

The Folding Outback XL apparently has a camera mount, (shows in an ad, but I don't see that on the site.}

Folds to just 11" and costs only $40 some bucks. May be worth looking at.

Check out a trekpod http://www.trek-tech.com/they work great and they give the best of both a mono-pod and a tripod as well as a great walking stick.
