Default Kodak DC290 & Ikelite housing

Hi all.

I have a DC290, and the Ikelite housing.

I'd like to use an external strobe with the camera.
The flash is blocked by the housing.
I very much doubt that using a slave sensor is going to work with the way the camera works.
I'm basically thinking of using the external flash capabilities of the camera (it has an external flash port).
Is there a posibility of getting a connector added to the housing (I have visions of drilling a new hole) or is there some kind of radio device I can get that would fire the strobe?

Anyone have any experience with the proposed kind of mods to the housing (I 'spose people who build custom housings can also reply )

or do I just look for video lights?

thanks in advance
