We have a Sanyo Xacti that is about six months old. We used it for the first time underwater this past week and it took great videos while we snorkeled. We continued to use it for a couple of days after the snorkeling without any problems. We took the SD card out to transfer the files to our computer, and now when we replace it in the Xacti, the camera won't recognize the card and wants to record to the internal memory. It says "store to internal memory camera mode" when we start it up. I've tried a new SD card and it won't work either. We have the printed side of the SD card facing the on off switch.

Can anyone help with this problem?

First thing I'd try is formatting the card in the camera.

Does the computer still recognise the card?

Do you have another card to try in the camera?

Thanks for the suggestions. The option to format the SD card is greyed out, I think because the camera isn't seeing that there is a card in the camera. I tried a brand new SD card and the camera doesn't recognize it either. both card are readable in my computer.

Sounds like a problem with the card slot on the camera. It may be just a dirty contact but I'm not sure what you can do about it. Probably needs a professional repair.
