Default Underwater photography with Panasonic DMC-FT1 (TS1)

Just returned from the Maldives where I recorded hundreds of underwater photos and movies:

some pictures: http://public.fotki.com/Primoz/maldives-meedhuppar/
some movies: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...4522D37F769971

Almost all underwater pictures and movies were made using "Underwater" scene mode, AWB, continuous focus, best picture quality and 5MP in depths between 3 and 6 meters. Sun wasn't very bright all the time, but FT1 has done an excellent job in all conditions.

All pictures and movies were made during snorkeling/free diving, with "naked" FT1, without any additional light. Pictures were just imported to Picasa3, resized and exported.

Beautiful fish. You must have had lots of fun chasing them and shooting.

Default Lumix ft1 underwater

Hi there !....like the pics you took in the Maldives interested to know if you had any condensation problems? As we had recently been out in the Red Sea found that that sensor appeared not to cope with the changing light conditions. Assume these pictures have been cropped was ther a reason why they were taken at 5MP ?

Many thanks, we have been doing underwater with a cannon 410 and box with good results but just updated.

Trying to do some homework as we are off to Mexico next month. thanks for you comments

Hy Ray!

I have no condensation problems at all, never. But I never open any of my cameras in hot & humid places! I always change SD cards and accus only in cold & dry rooms with aircon.

I realy tested a lot with all camera resolutions and in the end I decided that 5 (only for FT1 and FT2) Mpix is optimal for my needs (optimal IQ, image size, print options).
