Default Underwater photos - Panasonic DMC-FT1 (TS1), Nabq, Egypt

This time I've been in Egypt, Nabq (north of Sharm el Sheikh):

some pictures: http://public.fotki.com/Primoz/sharm-el-sheikh-03-/

Almost all underwater pictures were made using "underwater" scene mode, AWB, continuous focus, best picture quality, flash set to off and 5MP in depths up to 8 meters and all of them were made during snorkeling/free diving, with "naked" FT1, without any additional light. Pictures were just imported to Picasa3, resized and exported.

Hi primus, great photos and videos you have there, looks like you have done some awesome trips.

Ive been checking out the FT1 for a while now, seems like a great all round camera but I am also into freediving so want something that can go a bit deeper than the rated 3m depth.

Most of my diving is 5-10m, do you think this camera would be ok for that? And do you recommend it? Did you use some sort of silicon on the seals (I have never used an underwater camera)?

Or does anyone know if they will be releasing a new version of this camera at all that will be rated deeper?

Most of my freediving is up to 15m, but when I am taking photos only up to 8m. This is max. depth for FT1 with ikelite silicon lube 0184.1 on the seals (only 5m without).

Canon D10 is waterproof for more than 10m, but its imageQ and especially movieQ is not as in FT1.

When Panasonic will offer new UW camera rated for 10m (or more), I will buy it immediately. But at this moment I have no information about new Panasonic UW cameras.
