Default Album / Archiving Software

What is the best software to use to organize all of your digital photos? Traditionally I have renamed each file and placed it in a logical folder, however, this is time consuming.

What software do you use and what features do you like best.

Also, what is the best software for creating a photo album? What featured do you look for and consider most important.

You have about a million options here and about as many pricing options as well

I love ACDSee
www.acdsee.com

Irfanview is great to use but not as robust
www.irfanview.com

You can also check out Ulead and Jasc.com as well
All have great stuff...

Good Luck

Well, if you use a Mac, iPhoto is a great way to go, although there are some reported problems with libraries > 3000 pictures. It requires complete faith in Apple, as the images are not logically organized on the folder level.

Photoshop Albums is similar, from what I hear. These are both integrated packages which help you organize, print, order, post, export and generally share your photos, with minor editing capabilities. iPhoto is free, Photoshop Albums runs $50, I think.
