I'm looking for a better way to display large numbers of photos online.

I cannot use PHPand I am partial to the idea of using XML.

My requirements are:
  • large numbers (up to around 50, average file size 30kb) photos should load in background and not hang up the browser[/*]
  • Option for slideshow, preferably with my option to have it default to "slideshow on"[/*]
  • Broad range of browser compatibility[/*]
  • requires no plugin
[/*]
I found one that meets all of these requirements, except browser compatibility:
http://mckoss.com/jscript/slideshow/
but I cannot expect all of my end users to use IE

Here's an example of how I'm doing it now:

Thanks for any suggestions

Does anyone have any suggestions of another forum more appropriate to ask this question?

How can i forget my best friends - Wondershare Flash Slideshow Builder.

Very easy to use, and cool & fun results. Like this software.

I was also looking for a way to put my photos on the internet on my own web space. I ended up using this : http://www.webgallerywizard.com/Default.htm
:-)
You can see what it looks like on my webpage here :- http://www.tigers.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/index.htm The only thing is that it uses flash and would need the people looking at my website also to have a flash plug-in. I think most people do have the flash plug-in though, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Have a look at "zenfolio" , it`s really great and for $40 a year you`ll have unlimited storage with the capability of uploading pictures up to 12mb each.

If you`re interested i can give you my referral code and you`ll save $5 .

Go see my site to have an idea :-)
