Default crack in lens?

Hi - all the pix i take with my canon rebel XT/18-55mm lens have a webby bunch of lines in one corner... i don't know if it's mold/dirt inside somewhere (i do live in hawaii where mold gets into most things) or a cracked part and don't know how to figure it out/fix. i am attaching 2 files that shows what i'm talking about, upper left of pix (i've cropped them so just the problem corner shows). it's getting worse over time. any ideas? all help appreciated!

-even, Lucky you to live in Hawaii! As to the spider thing in the top left corner of your pics. Have you tried another lens? With what result. If you have, and you get the same result, it may be something on the sensor, or the sensor itself may be damaged. Other than that, I.m outta suggestions.. I.m sure others will follow me...Good luck.

It could be mold on the inside of your lens, when you store your lens, do you put in a pack of silica to keep down the moisture in you storage area?

That's in focus enough that I kinda suspect the sensor...
More of my thoughts and opinions on can be found on my blog. I also like to post my photos on Flickr. Smilez, Mark.

i am thinking its mold on the sensor too, if it were on the lens it would not be that easy to see in the picture.
