Default need some lens advice and possibly a dumb question.

Hi everyone Xavier here new to the forum. here is the deal

I bought my girlfriend a G9 with all the trimmings about 2 years ago.
here is what we have.
WP-DC21 waterproof Case,
WC-DC58B 0.75x Wide Angle Converter Lens,
TC-DC58C 2x Teleconverter Lens, and a
220EX Speedlite TTL Shoe Mount Flash
we love the camera and will continue using it, but two things have happened
1. we have gotten a lot more into photography and
2. we have outgrown the semi-dslr features of the G9

We are now getting ready to take the big step and are thinking of purchasing the 7D.

For an initial lens I was planning on buying the
Wide Angle EF 28mm f/1.8 USM this would give me a 44.8mm (35mm equivalent) this lens just so happens to have 58mm threads for filters.

Could i screw the G9's adapters to the front of it and end up with a 33.6mm wide and 89.6 tele?

could i screw these in front of any lens with a 58mm screw thread and basically either double it or reduce it by .75?

Thanks for your help

You technically can as I really do not know how the results would be as I do not shoot TC, I know you can put a macro add lens in front of a EF lens to give it better macro ability.
