Please help to choose a compact camera... I have a terrible headache choosing one.

I have decide to spent about 300-500€ ($300-$600) in a Ultra-compact especially or compact instead. The feature I'm looking for are:

5-6 megapixels will be ok to start from

3x-4x zoom is enough

IQ is most important for me, that's why I want to know which one has better lens/image quality

It would be ok if manual control are possible, but not a key factor.

Iwoulduse the camera asan all around useone (outdoors, indoors, macro, even video sometimes). Maybe I will print some photos up to DIN A-3 format as maximum. As this will be an all around use camera, I'm pretty sure there would be many indoor photos and low light (and outdoor night shots) photos, but also outdoor ones in the same proportion.

My first brand option is Canon although I wouldn't discard Sony, Fuji, Nikon, Pentax... Concretely, I'm really messy between these Canon models: SD550, SD700IS, SD800IS and SD900. Although I have also had a look at Fuji F30 (F31d), Sony DSCN1/N2, Canon A710IS...

Any ideas please?! I have to decide right now unless I want my head to ache forever...

Thanks in advance!

i think A3 might be pushing it but for the chance of some sharp images

you might like to check out the Fuji F30, steve has a review of it here
currently the only small digital that has useable iso through to 3,200, which will be very important in low light

you will see by the images that its a very capable lens too

I just got a Sony T30 and love it so far. The T10 has all of the same specs, except it's even smaller and only has a 2.5" lcd screen. Picture quality and video are super. The macro magnifying glassfunction is mind boggling! Steve gave both of them good reviews. You might want to check them out. Good luck!
